2022 Seat Ateca. The Seat Ateca 2022 SUV’s updated variant has been revealed. According to the most recent information, this vehicle will undergo a mid-life upgrade, which will have an updated appearance, enhanced technology, and more efficient engines.

If you didn’t already know, the Seat Ateca is the first SUV produced by a Spanish company. It was released in late 2016 and quickly rose to the top in its category. After a few years of great sales success, the new model is once again ready to conquer the crossover market with a new look.

2022 Seat Ateca Powertrain

Modifications have been made and the upcoming Ateca 2022 Seat will come with some mechanical changes. This model offers some engine options. According to the manufacturer, the base Ateca will use the same 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, however, we’ve heard that this engine will result in a 10% improvement in fuel economy.

The optional 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol is still on sale and will reduce fuel consumption as much as the norm. As for the diesel engines, the 1.6 TDI was replaced by a new 2.0-liter engine that produces 115 hp. If more power is needed, there’s a 2.0-liter TDI that puts out just under 200 horsepower. We are still waiting for information on exact fuel consumption and transmissions.

2022 Seat Ateca Exterior

The new crossover 2022 Seat Ateca presents an impressive design that looks attractive. The manufacturer added a unique grille pattern and a restyled bumper with fog lights. The new grille is somewhat reminiscent of the Leon hatchback. It is attractive and shaped like a hexagon.

As before, almost the same shape of the headlights is preserved. At the rear, the upcoming 2022 Seat Ateca features taillights that use the latest LED headlights and two exhaust systems on the bumper.

2022 Seat Ateca Inside

The former Ateca already offers a large, modern cabin. According to the manufacturer, the cabin of the new model will be more driver-oriented. Buyers can expect an eight-way power driver’s seat and memory function as standard. Other changes made to the interior include a slicker steering wheel, better seat materials, and matte trim on the dashboard, center console, and air vents.

Ateca’s infotainment systems will improve. As we’ve heard, the entry-level SE 8.25 will look a lot ahead of the touchscreen. There will be more choices in loft decorations. Buyers can get a 9.2 more significant screen that includes a voice control system with natural speech recognition. The higher-spec FR Sport and Xperience Lux are the most equipped. Both will come with a new 10.25 display in a customizable digital display.

2022 Seat Ateca Price And Release Date

The manufacturer releases a new batch of photos. Among them, we can see that the 2022 Seat Ateca will look stylish and come with notable updates. The Seat manufacturer has not revealed any official information about the launch date and price. According to several reports, this SUV may be available later this year.

2022 Seat Ateca News

The latest entrant from Seat has finally arrived in the big crossover market, the Attica. Renault’s rival Kadjar will be available to order starting at £17,990 and arrives in UK showrooms on September 9.

The SUV shares its platform with the new Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Yeti 2018. However, it undermines the precedent, while Seat will also offer a limited edition version of the first.

The Ateca begins SEAT’s SUV history, with at least two more models before the end of the decade. According to company president Luca de Meo, this will help the brand “take another leap forward” and return the company to “sustainable profitability.”

The Seat Ateca is a mid-size SUV that measures 4.36 meters in length, or about 10 centimeters shorter than the Renault Kadjar. Its styling is somewhat conventional, with the distinctly derived Seat Leon grille and headlights, the roofline tapering at the rear, squared-out wheel arches, and a distinct torsion of window line on the C-pillar.

A wide range of efficient petrol and diesel engines, with 4×4 and optional DSGs, will take the SEAT Ateca family’s SUV crossover into new territory for the Spanish brand.

Chief Designer Alejandro Mesonero told Auto Express, “We’ve adapted our design language to the SEAT SUV. This car should be like the big brother of Leon, but we’ll introduce stronger developments in the next 18 months.”

The taillights are also very similar in shape to the Leon, although they have sharper folds and a more complex lighting design.

Although it sits on the same platform, the Seat Ateca is slightly smaller than its VW companion, the Tiguan. This is mainly due to a shorter rear overhang, which makes the Spanish model’s boot space a bit smaller. However, it still looks respectable at 510 liters on front-wheel drive models.

The addition of mechanical parts to allow all-wheel drive reduces the Attica’s cargo area somewhat, reducing it to 485 liters, but this is still evident from the 430 liters offered on the Nissan Qashqai and the 472 liters of the Renault Kadjar.

Seat Ateca interior design

Inside, the Ateca has a look familiar to any Leon owner, with the infotainment screen installed in the middle of the dashboard. It will be a 5-inch screen in the base spec versions, but two 6.5- and 8-inch screens will also be available. Options will include SEAT Full Link, which includes MirrorLink smartphone connectivity along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and wireless charging for compatible phones.

Engines for a Seat Ateca

The entry-level petrol engine will be a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged unit producing 114 horsepower. It’s an interesting option for SEAT because Volkswagen is known to have considered using the same unit in the Tiguan, but decided against using it. The other petrol at launch will be the 1.4-liter EcoTSI engine with 148 horsepower. It’s the same unit we’ve seen on the VW Golf and SEAT Leon, and it can shut off the cylinders to save fuel when it’s not necessary.

However, diesel engines will be the best seller in the UK. There is a 1.6 with 114 hp and CO2 emissions of 112 g/km, which is front-wheel drive only, and the 2.0 is offered in two configurations: 148 hp and 187 hp. Even the most powerful four-wheel drive diesel emits 131 g/km.

All-wheel drive Ateca models will be called 4Drive and are limited to 148 hp diesels and 187 hp in the high-spec XCELLENCE. DSG is also available on these diesel engines.

However, Senior President Luca de Meo assured us that there are no plans to reduce the introduction of the new Cupra models. “France and Cobra will continue,” he said. “I will help the team take care of this,” which means a hot Attica Cobra is out of the question.

The Ateca should also get a full suite of safety gear, including the ability to drive itself in heavy traffic stop-and-go (called traffic jam assist) and emergency assistance, which monitors the driver and can stop the vehicle if it remains idle for a dangerously long time. Traffic light recognition, parking sensors, a 360-degree “top-down” view of parking and blind spot detection will also be provided.

Pricing and Specifications

SEAT is desperate to catch up in the family SUV market, which is why the Ateca is pricing so tightly. The base model starts at £17,990 and goes up to just under £30,000 for a high-spec XCELLENCE model with all trim. This starting price is about £500 less than the simplest Nissan Qashqai.

The Spanish brand has confirmed that the new First Edition will go on sale from £21,995 with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. Only 200 will be sold here, and the crowdsourcing contest saw participants decide to their preferred version.

The Ateca Fiest Edition comes with 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, keyless operation, power tailgate, rear parking sensors, and black roof rails. In total, an additional £3,500 worth of kit has been added to the SE spec.

The Ateca, which will be built alongside the next-generation Skoda Yeti in Kvasini in the Czech Republic, is the first of three SEAT SUVs in the pipeline. The second is most likely a crossover from Ibiza that will take on the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur; The third model is a seven-seat flagship that was previously shown with the 20V20 concept at last year’s Geneva Motor Show.

2022 Seat Ateca Update

The Spanish manufacturer has confirmed that the competition’s Nissan Qashqai is scheduled to be revealed on June 15. The new preview image only reveals the rear of the car, where we can see that the shape is basically the same. However, detailed changes are visible, including slightly modified taillights and new, more expressive decals for the model we first saw on the new Leon.

Limited details of what Seat describes as a “significant update” have been released alongside the image. The SUV is said to feature a “new aesthetic inside the cabin and exterior design”, while it will increase safety and connectivity features.

The engine range will be improved by claims of improved efficiency, although it is not clear how wide that will be. The reference point is a similarly priced Leon, which benefits from mild hybrid versions of Seat’s three- and four-cylinder petrol engines with automatic gearboxes.

Previous prototypes seem to have had some sort of gauge sensor on each wheel – the kind we’ve seen before on prototypes with regenerative braking. This technology is generally the preserve of the hybrid powertrain, which matches the brand’s electrified offering.

Although not yet confirmed, it is possible that a plug-in hybrid version of “eHybrid” from Leon will follow. In the hatchback, a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine, 13 kWh battery pack, and electric motor combine to produce 201 horsepower and offer an electric-only range of 38 miles.
