2022 Kia Sportage Design Exterior Interior Engine And Release Date

2022 Kia Sportage. The new 2022 Kia Sportage is a low-cost small crossover that will be released later this year. The next generation model will have a fresh new appearance as well as a slew of high-tech functions. The Sportage, like previously, is a two-row seat that seats pleasantly inside and has enough of storage in the rear for all of your stuff.
In terms of performance, the next model will offer two engine options including a 2.4L inline 4 engine which is standard and a 2.0L turbocharged inline 4 engine, which delivers a whopping 240 horsepower.
2022 Kia Sportage Engine
The new 2022 Kia Sportage will continue to offer the same powertrain as before. As you know, this model comes with two different engine options. The standard powertrain on the Sportage is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes standard with FWD, or AWD can be selected as an option. We can expect some efficiency improvements this time around. On the other hand, the current model is far from impressive in that it delivers 23/30 mpg city (FWD), 22/26 mpg city/highway (AWD).
The optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers an impressive 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This model has a significantly lower city/highway fuel economy: 20/28 mpg (FWD), 19/24 mpg (AWD). A six-speed automatic gearbox is the only option currently available on both models. As before, we can expect the same towing speed of up to 2,000 pounds.
2022 Kia Sportage Design
The ‘Euro-centric’ design has made its appearance once again in the new 2022 Kia Sportage SUV. This time, the Sportage will host more substantial changes than before. This means that the bodywork will be overhauled and will now feature an attractive new grille, bumper, air intake and skid plate.
This is just the beginning of the updates. At the rear, we can see that the manufacturer redesigned the bumper and skid plate in a new S shape, adding LED taillights and a better-shaped exhaust system. The profile looks better too, and now the 2022 Kia Sportage comes with a variety of alloy wheels ranging in size from 17, 18 and 19 inches.
2022 Kia Sportage Interior
The new 2022 Kia Sportage will continue to offer a stylish and modern cabin. Inside, there’s plenty of new technology and we love its comfortable, supportive seats. As before, this model will have two rows of seats and enough interior rooms for five passengers. At the rear, spacious rear seats provide plenty of room to stretch.
Headroom isn’t that great when an optional panoramic sunroof is added. The latest Sportage model offers an excellent 30.7 feet of cargo space, but in this department you lose a battle between models like the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester.
The new model has definitely been improved on the inside and will come with a long line of technicians. The standard package includes an 8-inch touchscreen display (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and faux leather seating surfaces available in S-molding.
2022 Kia Sportage Release Date And Price
The latest 2022 Kia Sportage is an SUV that will continue its battle with models such as the Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4. In general, the new Kia Sportage will receive a facelift that increases its price.
However, this SUV is very affordable, costing less than $27,000 for the less expensive LX model. Switching to a fully-equipped AWD SX Turbo model, the price will rise to $38,000. The new SUV will appear sometime this year as a 2022 model.

2022 Kia Sportage Update
The official campaign for the 2022 Kia Sportage has begun. As Americans prepare for Memorial Day weekend, Kia has taken to social media with three photos that give us an idea of what to expect from the next generation of SUV, both outside and inside. We also know when the covers will be officially removed. Save the date for Tuesday, June 8th.
From the outside, it’s clear that there’s an undeniable similarity to the Hyundai Tucson, although these previews offer an unobstructed first look at the front section, including the new headlights. We can say that there is definitely some influence from both the K5 and the EV6, although the details remain hidden. At the rear, the turn signals are backed by completely redesigned lenses and the angular look continues there too. Side mirrors are emphasized on the doors instead of the A-pillar, but unfortunately darkness obscures the rest of the exterior details. And yes, we tried the old-fashioned glow-in-the-dark Photoshop trick just to be safe.
Come a bigger surprise. The final teaser image reveals a dash, and boy, Nelly is a great digital screencaster. As in many cars now, there is a single pane of glass that extends from the driver’s side to the center position. It will likely have two separate screens behind it, with a few buttons visible underneath. The design looks almost identical to the EV6, except for the differences in the intakes and the steering wheel. More details are hidden, but it looks like Kia is already working on improving the Sportage both inside and out.
As of this article’s publication on May 30, we have just over a week left to speculate on what Kia has in store for the Sportage. Extensive powertrain electrification is almost certainly almost certain, especially since it’s already in place with the Tucson common platform. We also expect to see a range of safety and driver assistance systems to help the Sportage stay competitive in a very competitive segment.
With a premiere date set for June 8, there’s no reason to believe the next Sportage won’t be on sale by the end of the year. We also wouldn’t be surprised to see more developments from Kia before the SUV goes out of the shade out into the open.

2022 Kia Sportage News
The new Kia Sportage broke the lid. This new variant of the Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson and Nissan Qashqai will come with an all-new design, a modern interior and a wide range of engines, including hybrids, when it goes on sale before 2022.
New Kia Sportage design
The old Sportage had a tiger-nose grille, well, at least according to Kia… the new car looks less like a wild animal, but is still quite sporty for a family SUV. The first thing you’ll likely notice are those pointed daytime running lights, followed by the heavily creased doors and angled side skirts with flashes of chrome.
From the side, the rear pillar sections of the Kia Sportage are painted black and come with glossy silver trim to make the roof appear to “float” above the rest of the body. This probably won’t fool a lot of people, but it does help make the car look slimmer from the back. Speaking of which, the new Kia Sportage has full-width brake lights that look similar to the previous car, but add some understating details on each rim inspired by the electric Kia EV6.
The new Kia Sportage from the inside
The new Kia Sportage has a more modern interior than the previous model. Instead of that car’s relatively small touchscreen, you get a huge center screen that connects to a new digital display, much like the dual-screen setup found on many Mercedes cars. It has quite a few physical buttons inside the new Sportage, as is common these days, so it can be a little tricky to operate some of the more detailed menus in the system while you’re driving.
The Kia Sportage will offer the X-Line with some exclusive interior trim options, including green or black seat upholstery and what Kia calls “black metallic wood,” which is presumably wood-effect metallic trim. The front seats come with a built-in coat and bag hanger to help keep your luggage in place, and Kia has installed some handy storage compartments throughout the cabin of the new Sportage. He didn’t say how much trunk space was for the new car, although it would probably improve in the cargo compartment of the old 503-liter.
New Kia Sportage engines and handling
Kia has been very secretive about the new Sportage’s engines, but you can bet it will come with an almost identical selection to the latest Hyundai Tucson (the two brands share many parts in nearly all of their cars).
Get a Matt Verdict on Hyundai Tucson
You’ll likely be able to choose between a 115 hp diesel, 150 hp gasoline, and three mild hybrid engines ranging from 136 hp to 180 hp. The new car may also be offered with the same 265-horsepower hybrid system as the new Hyundai Tucson, which should be fast enough for most people.
Compare the best hybrid cars for sale
Most likely there will be front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and there should be a choice of manual or automatic gearbox, although there is a possibility that Kia will fit all UK cars with an automatic system as standard. You’ll know for sure in September, when more details about the UK will be announced.
Price and release date of the new Kia Sportage
Kia will confirm specifications for the British Sportage models in September 2021 and are expected to go on sale before 2022. The current Kia Sportage range costs under £24,000, while the higher-spec models will set you back well over £30,000. Expect the new car to cost around £28,000.
