2021 Volkswagen Nivus Review – Design, Engine, Release date and Price
The latest mini crossover is the all-new 2021 Volkswagen Nivus, which will debut next week and will be sold in South America initially. It is an accurate crossover that carries the new Volkswagen logo. The rest of the market will have the opportunity to purchase a new Nivus later this year. Either way, the European debut of 2021.
The German manufacturer is growing its SUV range and we have already written about upcoming models. 2021 Volkswagen Nivus does not deviate from the current design language of the company. The design is similar to that of the T-Cross model, but it has more loading space. Overall, this model looks elegant and the latest interior details are impressive.
2021 Volkswagen Nivus exterior design
The upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Nivus is based on the Polo style. In both cases, there are two models of the same size. So far, blur-stimulating images are the only source of detail. The new Nivus is similar to T-Cross and the design is basically the same. The same design can be seen on the Taigun SUV with Indian specifications. To be more precise, the Nivus is just like any other company’s SUV.
It carries a well-known Volkswagen design language. Do not expect anything innovative and unique. On the other hand, the ramped C column creates a coupe-like look. The crossover stand is great, thanks to the strong alloy wheels, roof rails, and the new chassis. Volkswagen calls Nivus “New Urban Coupe” and with good reason.
2021 Volkswagen Nivus Interior details
The interior is also borrowed from the T-Cross. Thanks to that, the new 2021 Volkswagen Nivus comes with similar design and same features. The new infotainment system is available for Volkswagen Play. The same system debuted with ID3 and Golf models. Now the short teaser video shows the same information and entertainment. Plus, the steering wheel is familiar too.
Volkswagen confirmed some additional features in this video. This includes electric luggage opener, startup system and parking assistance. Although not official, the full digital dashboard at the highest levels of trimming is very certain.
2021 Volkswagen Nivus Engine and transmission options
All we know so far is the Nivus specification from Brazil and the engine option. It is a TSI 1.0 liter petrol unit. The new 2021 Volkswagen Nivus will produce 114 hp with a six-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, models equipped with a six-speed automatic gearbox will produce 126 horsepower. This of course only refers to the model in Brazil.
Nivus will reach different markets, so expect more strength. Volkswagen offers an optional 4Motion AWD system. The diesel engine is not on the map, which is strange considering that the MQB platform supports the new Nivus crossover. The German manufacturer may plan to offer diesel, but not for the time being.
