2021 Byton M-Byte Review – Design, Engine, Release date and Price

We can’t stop writing about all-electric SUVs. A new paradigm that will astound the world, or at least Asia, is the upcoming 2021 Byton M-Byte. What the hell are you asking ?! It is a complete electric prototype made by Byton, a Hong Kong based manufacturing company. M-Byte offers a minimum range of 225 miles and costs around $ 45,000. Most importantly, Byton will sell its new model in the U.S. in 2021.

Another impressive fact about this model is the 48-inch touch screen. Yes, I read it correctly, 48 inches. So far we have seen the prototype at CES in Las Vegas. As for performance numbers, we should rely on what Payton promised, it’s that simple. Let’s see what is the brand new M-Byte SUV.

2021 Byton M-Byte exterior looks traditional

At first glance, the new 2021 Byton M-Byte looks more traditional than futuristic. We love the windows that extend to the rear pillar. A similar sign can be found on the new Nissan models. However, the overall look is closer to Mazda CX-5 or Lincoln Corsair. On the other hand, you can find some unusual clues.

This includes what is called a “light signature”, which is a thin slim LED strip. Those bars are in the front and back. Thanks to that, M-Byte lights up and shows charging status. A simple way to know if your car is ready to drive.

Once in the brand new 2021 Byton M-Byte, you’ll know M-Byte thanks to the very big screen. The 48 inch touch screen is the most important characteristic of these SUVs. It makes up the top of the dashboard and shows everything from movies, weather, sports scores, to conference calls. However, movies and phone calls are only available when the SUV is stopped.

It basically controls everything via a 48-inch screen and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior looks traditional, but once the LED lights come on and the big screen appears, M-Byte takes a more futuristic look.

2021 Byton M-Byte Range, charging and performance

As with any other electric vehicle, the 2021 Byton M-Byte also provides a variety of engines and powertrain. This includes a 72 kWh battery with the rear-wheel drive system. Of course, you can choose the optional 95 kWh battery that uses two electric motors and a four-wheel drive. The approximate range ranges from 224 miles to 285 miles.

However, according to Byton, the range is calculated according to European standards, which are usually slightly lower. Charging the M-Byte takes 35 minutes from 0 to 80 percent via a fast DC charger. Byton will partner with Electrify America, which will provide access to its shipping network. This collaboration includes a limited number of free chargers.

2021 Byton M-Byte price and release date

The next 2021 Byton M-Byte will go on sale in late 2020. The best part is that these electric SUVs will be available in the United States in early 2021. The price starts from $ 45,000, which is slightly higher than other competitors. Potential competitors are Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y and Fisker Ocean.
